Why Serve on the Board of Directors?
- The time commitment is not large
- The term is two years.
- A nominating committee will ensure replacements are identified for outgoing members.
- Meetings are on a weeknight evening for an hour about six or seven times a year.
- Board officers don't do it all. The neighborhood at large is supportive.
- There is something for everyone
- The incoming Board elects officers at their first Board meeting, held shortly after the Annual HOA meeting in January.
- Committee chairs for events and neighborhood projects are appointed as needed and offer a wide variety of opportunities to contribute.
- Sampling of duties, events and projects
- Entryway landscape and street sign maintenance
- Annual updates to SGHOA directory
- Architectural Committee appointments
- Neighborhood social events
- Newsletter and website publishing
- Yard sale
- Holiday House decorating contest
- Welcome new neighbors
- Support neighbors in need or who have experienced a loss
- Collect and share information on items of interest to residents
- Develop a budget and collect homeowners dues to support these activities
